Sick Leave Pay Calculator

Sick leave pay (temporary disability benefit) is paid at 2/3 (66.67%) of the daily gross earnings for outpatient treatment, and 1/2 (50%) for inpatient treatment. The first 2 days are a waiting period during which SSI makes no payment.

SSI pays the sick leave benefit. For the first 2 days (waiting period), SSI does not make any payment; the employer is not obligated to pay for this period, but many employers may pay based on the employment contract.

To receive sick leave pay, at least 90 days of short-term insurance premiums must have been reported in the last year. A medical report must be issued by a doctor and entered into the SSI system.
