Frequently Asked Questions

How is the due date calculated?

The due date is calculated by adding 280 days (40 weeks) to the last menstrual period date according to Naegele's rule. If the menstrual cycle differs from 28 days, the difference is reflected in the due date. This method provides an estimated date; actual delivery may vary by ±2 weeks.

How accurate is the estimated due date?

Statistics show that only about 5% of babies are born on their estimated due date. Most babies are born 1-2 weeks before or after the estimated date. Ultrasound measurements can provide more accurate estimates.

What is a trimester?

Pregnancy is divided into three trimesters. The 1st Trimester (0-12 weeks) is the period when organs form, the 2nd Trimester (13-27 weeks) is the period of rapid baby growth, and the 3rd Trimester (28-40 weeks) is the preparation period for birth.
